Construction
For this project, I had to use Photoshop to produce garments which is inspired by the architecture.
Detroit Free Press Building
Design 1
This dress was inspired by the building Detroit Free Press Building, I wanted to focus on the outline of the dress because it was my first experimenting piece. I made a right decision about choosing an shape of a dress, which was not very complicated or difficult to do. I learmed how to use the select tool, for my next design I wanted to continue with experimenting with the shapes of different outfit.

Design 2
Doing this design, for me was not very difficult compare to my first design. First design helped me understand more about how to construct an garment, using an flat image. I started to feel more confident about using Photoshop, for this design I wanted to challenge myself and use an difficult outlne. This point I made an decision about, I will be using one image of an building to construct the whole outfit than use bits of different building.
Design 3
For design instead of doing an dress, I decided to create jumpsuit, I wanted to use the pattern which is on the building trhoughout the design. I thought having to make decision was very wise because this experimental piece, did made me realise that I should just not be focusing on the garment. Also focus on the proportion of the body and not making the design look odd in a way.
Design 4
I found it really difficult to do this design, even it looked easy but it was very tricky because of the shape of the body which had movement. Instead of making the bottom hem of the dress straight, I had to think about curving it onto a shape that will fom. If it was an actual garment, I think the design looked more 3D in a way and looked more better compare to my other experiment designs.
Lisboa Building
Design 5
For this design, I wanted to make it more party-wear than casual. I thought it worked very well with the building because the material of the building looks like sequins. Even the design worked well, with the design. I will be sticking with buildings which are less sparkly compare to the Lisboa building.
Design 6
Looking at the structure of this building, it reminded me of space age fashion. Throughout my design I wanted to keep my design wearable, Using a very simple shape of the dress and using the building as the pattern, worked very well. I really liked the way the design worked very well.
Design 7
Instead of making one garment, I wanted to create two piece of garment using same building. I decided to use the same building because of the fashion trend for this year was same patterned clothing even it was two pieces of garment. As I want to keep my design to be wearable and more not houte couture, I think this design does work well with the choice of the building.
Design 8
During this project where I had to create outfits, which was inspired by the building. Throughout this project I was finding it very difficult to use Photoshop, because I really do not know how to work on Photoshop. Finding it difficult, I still wanted to face challenges ahead of me. I decided to do few practice design, where I looked at the outline of the dresses and shapes. Doing this helped me understand more about, how does Photoshop works and I was learning as I went along with experimenting. At the end of this project, I knew how to use Photoshop more than when I did starting of the project. If I had chance to do this project again, I will make sure that I will design more outstanding outfits compare to the ones I did.
